Our applied theatre projects use the power of story to bring complex issues to life - creating space for empathy, understanding, and meaningful discussion. Productions such as 'Behind Closed Doors' and 'Beyond the Warzone' have been performed at conferences, training events, and leadership programmes across the UK, helping adult audiences to engage with sensitive or challenging subjects in a safe, thought-provoking way.
Applied theatre is one of the most effective tools for raising awareness and inspiring change because it doesn’t just tell people what to think - it allows them to feel the impact of the issues. By watching real, human stories unfold, audiences connect emotionally before reflecting intellectually, leading to deeper insight and longer-lasting learning.
In addition to our existing repertoire, we also develop bespoke applied theatre projects tailored to an organisation’s specific themes, culture, and training needs. Whether delivered as part of a wider development programme or as a standalone event, our work transforms awareness into understanding, and understanding into action.
Currently Available
Behind Closed Doors is a hard-hitting applied theatre production that was developed in association with The City of London Police to raise awareness amongst police officers, social workers, NHS staff, and other professionals of the issues surrounding Domestic Abuse & Violence.
It was developed in response to the HMIC ‘Everyone’s Business’ report into improving the Police’s response to Domestic Abuse and tells the story of Anna. Anna was smart, had a good job and had fallen in love with Jay. Unfortunately Jay was not all that he seemed to be. Anna’s story is played out and examined in an attempt to understand what happened to her, how others could have helped, and how the tragic ending could have been prevented.

Beyond the Warzone is the military adaptation of our Behind Closed Doors project - raising awareness and kickstarting conversations around Domestic Abuse & Violence in military settings.
The project is funded by the MoD and is regularly delivered to both Army and Navy personnel around the UK
